Paginya,  masing2 dah segar n ready to explore bandar Athens. Tempat pertama of coz adalah Acropolis. Metro stationnya adalah Akropoli. Metro2 di sini adalah sgt bersih dan teratur berbanding di Italy dan Paris yg agak hancing. Sampai di station Akropoli,  berjalan lah kejap nak ke entrance nya. Entrance fee adalah €12 per person yg merangkumi Acropolis, Ancient Agora dan Temple of Olympean Zeus.

Sedikit info mengenai Acropolis. Acropolis ni bermaksud Citadel atau little city. Masa Ancient Greek, Acropolis dijadikan pusat pemerintahan di sesuatu kota itu. Sebab tu kebanyakan Acropolis di atas bukit. Di Athens, terdapat beberapa Acropolis tp yg paling femes adalah The Acropolis of Athens di mana terletaknya the Parthenon, yg dahulunya adalah temple utk dewi Athena (one of dewa/dewi according to Greek Myth). Oleh kerna sgt femes, bila org sebut Acropolis, automatic akan merujuk pada Acropolis ber’Parthenon’ nih.

Dari entrance, bermulalah pendakian kami untuk sampai ke Parthenon. Sepanjang jalan, adalah peninggalan sejarah seperti Theatre of Dionysus, ancient garden dan temple kecil. Cuaca agak panas dan org dah agak ramai time nih.

Dan berpeluh2 ni, sampai lah jugak ke Parthenon nih. Structure dia tengah dlm restoration. Dari puncak, pengunjung juga boleh menikmati pemandangan bandar Athens yg padat tu.

Bila turun, kami melalui path lain pula. Jadi, boleh berjalan melalui Ancient Agora. A brief info pasal Agora ni. 

The Ancient Agora of Athens is a flat area defined by the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis and the hill of Areopagus in the south and the hill of Kolonos Agoraios in the west. It is traversed by one of the most important ancient roads, the Panathenaic Way, which led to the Acropolis from the main gate of the city, the Dipylon Gate. This road served as the processional way for the great parade of the Panathenaic festival, which was held to honour the city patron goddess Athena.

Structure dia lagi baik dari Parthenon tadi

Kami pun meneruskan explorasi utk mencari Temple of Olympean Zeus pulak. Rupa2nya, ia terletak di seberang Acropolis tu. Temple ni dedicated to Zeus. Sape yg rajin layan history atau Hollywood movie, taulah apa significant Zeus ni kepada Ancient Greeks.

Kemudian, kami pun ke Metro semula dan sebelum balik, sempatlah singgah di Monastiraki, Athens flea market, sambil2 mencari Hard Rock Café. Kali ni kami masuk ke Rock Shop kerna Ms Diva Nora tlh mengirim t-shirt utk Hubby nye..

Sempat lah beli pisang di Flea market

Petang tu, kami just berjalan sekitar Damassippou utk mencari taxi for tomorrow’s trip to airport. Memandangkan flight kami pagi2 buta, 7 am ke Santorini, makanya kami kena keluar rumah lebih kurang 5 am. Metro plak blm beroperasi time tu. Kalau ada pun, takda maknanya nak angkut luggage naik Metro. Last2 kami tahan je taxi yg lalu. Drivernya pakcik. Udah macam ayam ngan itik plak bercakap. Luckily, ada gadis yg meniaga kiosk depan stand tu sudi nak translate. Pakcik tu pun setuju nak pick up kami pagi nanti.
